The Financial District is usually dead by 6 p.m. Not this Wednesday.

About 200 people held the line at 630 Sansome St., right outside the ICE offices. It was loud—whistles, drums, and a clear message echoing off the office buildings: "ICE out of the Bay."
The response to the killing of Renee Nicole Good in Minneapolis was immediate. The crowd moved from the federal building down to Market, weaving through traffic and forcing the rush hour commute to actually stop and look.
It wasn't just noise, though. Organizers were moving through the crowd with leaflets, recruiting volunteers to escort neighbors to immigration court and signing people up for rapid response training. The network is building.
If you’re in the city, keep your eyes open. This energy isn't going anywhere.
